Synopsis

Prince Rama and Princess Sita live happily in the royal palace of Ayodhya. Rama, the beloved eldest son of King Dasharatha, is everyone's choice to inherit the throne. However, a palace conspiracy unfolds when Queen Kaikeyi demands that her son, Bharat, be crowned and Rama be exiled to the forest for 14 years.

Honoring his father’s word, Rama accepts the exile. Sita insists on accompanying him, as does his loyal brother Lakshmana. Together, they endure the hardships of forest life, battling demons who threaten peace.

Suddenly, Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, abducts Sita and takes her across the sea to his kingdom. Rama is devastated. With the help of the monkey-god Hanuman and an army of monkey warriors, Rama wages war against Ravana to rescue Sita.

Hanuman leaps across the ocean and finds Sita imprisoned in Ravana’s palace. After finding a way to cross the sea, Rama and his army launch a fierce battle. Ravana is ultimately slain in single combat by Rama, who reclaims Sita.

Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana return to Ayodhya after their exile. Bharat, who has ruled as regent while Rama was away, joyfully returns to the kingdom. Rama is crowned king in a grand coronation ceremony with Sita as his queen.
